ASB Group: Sustainable logistics planning from Lower Bavaria
Sustainability for our home and beyond
As logistics specialists, we not only have a transport order to fulfill, but also a responsibility. Climate change, energy costs, and environmental pollution are issues that are increasingly affecting us and our industry. That is why sustainability, environmental protection, quality management, and social responsibility play a central role in our decisions and have been important and integral parts of our company philosophy since ASB Fahrzeuglogistic GmbH was founded in 2007. Through regular investments, we ensure that our ecological footprint is as small as possible – across all areas of the company.

Responsibility for quality standards
With DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 quality management and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 environmental certifications, high standards have been implemented in the company since 2016. With the DIN EN ISO 50001:2018 energy management certification of ASB Group GmbH in 2025, we have faced up to our responsibility for climate protection and demonstrated that our energy policy meets the high expectations of our business partners and employees.
Energy supply and generation
When planning and building our company headquarters in Praßreut, we began investing in sustainable construction, infrastructure, and technology in order to keep CO2 emissions low. We rely entirely on climate-neutral “green” electricity to operate our site in Röhrnbach—much of which we generate ourselves.
By producing our own electricity through two large-scale photovoltaic systems with a capacity of 240 kW and two of our own combined heat and power plants (CHP), each with a capacity of 100 kW, which are powered by both biogas and hydrogen, the ASB Group is approximately 70 percent self-sufficient. The electricity we purchase comes from 100 percent renewable sources.
Water supply
Our water supply is up to 90 percent self-sufficient. Thanks to state-of-the-art water treatment, we utilise the purified waste water from the washing systems as process water on the company premises - thus reducing environmental pollution and water consumption.
Vehicle fleet
Our fleet is state of the art. All our vehicles are EURO 6-compliant and fulfil the strictest environmental and safety standards. High-quality tyres further reduce emissions, from fuel and abrasion to noise pollution.
Environmental equalisation and biodiversity
We are also committed to acting sustainably in ecological terms. In order to carefully compensate for the sealing of green areas through concrete construction, we created extensive compensation areas during the construction of our site, which strengthens the regional flora and biodiversity:
- over 2,000 indigenous trees were planted,
- more than 2.5 hectares of extensive meadows and orchards were created and
- special lighting systems were installed to protect sensitive animal species.
Compensation
In addition to all the necessary measures that form the basis of successful energy management, we support the reduction of CO2 emissions through international projects.
Strategy
Our climate protection strategy is based on continuous improvement and value creation. Efficiency improvements reduce our costs and increase the quality of our services. This leads to a solid financial basis that enables renewed investment and growth.
To this end, we implement an action plan that is reviewed, evaluated, and supplemented annually. Control mechanisms and analyses of energy data motivate us to drive forward further innovations that serve energy efficiency. Through our growth, we exploit synergies and thereby strengthen our competitiveness.
Awareness
Our employees are encouraged to take responsibility for energy-conscious behavior, carbon offsetting, and sustainability. We are open to suggestions for improvement. We provide all the necessary information and resources.

Our drivers receive regular ECO in-house training to promote an environmentally conscious way of working and driving.
